Business Spotlight – Allstate Insurance

Allstate Insurance has opened a new office in Tumwater recently and Tumwater Chamber had the opportunity to ask the owner, Ronelle Funk a few questions.

Could you provide us with a brief summary of your business’ services? 

“We provide all types of insurance including home, auto, renters, landlords, motorhome, motorcycle, boat, business, and life insurance”.

Could you tell us about your company’s mission and values?

“Our agencies treat our customers like we want to be treated – like family.  We want to get to know you and make sure you have the right protection for you and your family.  We want to make sure when the claim happens, you are covered”

What is the most pressing issue for your business?

“The new office in Tumwater is our third office in the area and was a big part of our growth plan, and with that in mind, our priority is taking care of customers while continuing to grow”.

What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Tumwater Chamber?

“Having power partners such as real estate agents and mortgage brokers is part of our business plan and the Chamber can help us making meaningful connections with other local business owners and professionals”.

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?

“I am constantly reading articles, attending meetings, gathering information about the next impact to insurance. One of them is telematics – using location services on your phone to impact your insurance rates positively. We also provide education and good advice to consumers through our social media accounts”.

What is your company culture like? 

“We work hard but like to have fun”!

What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?

“Someone who loves helping other people and who has a willingness to learn and grow”.

What makes Tumwater such a great place to do business? 

“I live in Tumwater and love the small town community of caring for others.  It is also on the verge of a wonderful growth with the craft brewing district”.

What, in your opinion, are the most pressing issues facing the Tumwater community?

“Redevelopment of the Brewery and traffic patterns in the Custer Way, Capitol, and North Street area”.

What pieces of advice have you found to be the most helpful since starting your career? 

“Always follow through on what you say, and don’t worry about what others think about you – let your heart come forward”.

How do you achieve a work/life balance?

“At the office, we do 5 minutes of yoga daily to recharge and reenergize for the afternoon.  In my personal life, I do yoga for an hour and a half every day”.

Where is your favorite place to have a meeting outside the office?

“Uncorked and Unwind – one block from my new Tumwater office and great salads and sandwiches”!
